Eco properties on the market: A stunning architecturally-designed Kangaroo Valley property that boasts off-grid comfort in a barn-style eco home has been put up for sale.
TV star Larry Emdur and his wife Sylvie are putting it on the market after two years of ownership, with an expected price point of $3.5 million.
Located at 679A Mount Scanzi Road in Kangaroo Valley, the home is a popular holiday home fixture on Airbnb, reportedly for upwards of $1000 a night.
“Sky Ridge” was designed by architect Alexander Michael and sold for $2.15 million the last time it hit the market.
The home, on 10 acres of land, has a rainwater tank and is solar-powered, with connection to the grid as a backup. The barn-style structure has four “pod” bedrooms all with ensuites and large windows with bushland views. The living area features retractable glass doors, polished concrete floors and two indoor fireplaces.
A large easterly-facing deck provides valley views, and the outdoor area has a fire pit and a dam. There’s development approval for a pool.
Agent Jye Emdur of Ray White TRG (the seller’s son) said the home was in high demand as a holiday rental and is attracting interest from Sydney buyers as an investment.
“There’s also a number of buyers who are local and who have grown up locally, and they’re looking for something that they can look after themselves, rather than outsource the work,” he said.
Larry Emdur, host of The Morning Show and The Chase Australia, told the Mercury that the home was “the most amazing place we’ve ever had”.
“When we first walked in there we were blown away.
“Kangaroo Valley is just spectacular, the community there is amazing.”
The family owns two properties in Berowra Waters, one of which is currently undergoing renovation.
679A Mount Scanzi Road, Kangaroo Valley is being offered for sale represented by agents Jye Emdur and Cae Thomas.
